Infinity Informatics, the Information Systems division of Infinity HealthCare (IHC), provides comprehensive information technology support to IHC's mission of quality health care. Internal to IHC, Infinity Informatics supports a comprehensive suite of critical core business functions:
  • Business Operations - Through internal design, development and implementation of relational database driven medical billing and financial systems, Infinity Informatics continues to meet the needs of a growing organization while also providing information to support operational enhancements.

  • Infinity HealthCare Intranet - Facilitating communication within and among all Infinity HealthCare facilities and staff, the Intranet incorporates clinician time reporting and serves as the portal to IHC electronic communication including the IHC Report Server, providing improved efficiency and cost savings.

  • Extensive LAN and WAN - Integrating internal staff and all Infinity HealthCare hospital departments, the network incorporates the latest firewall technologies, securing internal workstations and servers for business support, 140+ physicians from their homes, 18 emergency departments, two radiology departments, and high speed Internet connections.
Infinity Informatics has been and continues to be involved in several multi-organizational research efforts, including:
  • National Information Infrastructure - Health Information Network.
    Funded by the U.S. Department of Defense Advanced Research Project Agency (DARPA), the NII-HIN consortium created a national standard Essential Medical Data Set architecture to facilitate electronic clinical information exchange among health information networks serving both civilian and military patient populations, with a particular emphasis on the field of Emergency Medicine.

  • National Emergency Medical Extranet
    Funded through the National Library of Medicine, the NEME project was a collaborative multi-center effort to explore the use of advanced information networks that link Emergency Departments to provide clinical data sharing and common reference resources with the goal of improving emergency medical care.

  • Frontlines of Medicine
    Striving to improve on public health surveillance and alerting methodologies, Infinity Informatics is working with state and local public health officials and other health care providers on several efforts addressing bioterrorism surveillance. Learn more at www.Frontlinesmed.org.

  • ED Allies Asthma Tracking
    Funded by Robert Woods Johnson, working in conjunction with Children's Hospital of Wisconsin and multiple community hospitals in southeast Wisconsin to provide a regional, web-based, pediatric asthma tracking program. This project has resulted in the creation of the largest research database of pediatric emergency medical asthma encounters in the country.
