Founded in 1912 by concerned community leaders, Riverview Hospital remains an independent, community-owned and operated healthcare provider under the direction of the Riverview Hospital Association. Licensed for 99 beds, Riverview Hospital currently has a capacity of 79 beds for inpatient care and provides a wide range of outpatient services. Some of these services include cardiopulmonary rehabilitation, a diabetes and nutrition center, imaging services, surgery and outpatient procedures and a sleep lab.

Riverview Hospital Association primarily serves the 50,000 people who live in South Wood County, including the cities of Wisconsin Rapids and Nekoosa, villages of Port Edwards, Biron, Rudolph and Vesper, the towns of Grand Rapids and Saratoga, and various perimeter townships. Riverview also serves the adjacent Lakes recreational area in the far northern Adams County town of Rome, which includes the communities of Lake Arrowhead, Lake Sherwood and Lake Camelot.

Infinity HealthCare has provided Emergency Medicine staffing and management services since 2009. With an annual patient census of 28,000, this Level III Trauma Center and Fast Track is staffed with residency trained, board certified Emergency Medicine physicians and physician extenders.
